| Class 101: Discovering Your Membership | |
The Goal of the ClassThis class is the basic introduction to our church family. Since we have members from many different church backgrounds, this class was designed to clearly explain who and what our church is. In just three hours, we will touch on the story of FGA Centre’s beginning, our vision, our strategy, and our statement of faith. At the end of the class we will invite you to sign a Membership Covenant that contains Membership Core Values:1. I WILL PROTECT THE UNITY OF MY CHURCH...By acting in love toward other members...By refusing to gossip ...By following the leaders 2. I WILL SHARE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF MY CHURCH...By praying for its growth...By inviting the unchurched to attend ...By warmly welcoming those who visit 3. I WILL SERVE THE MINISTRY OF MY CHURCH...By discovering my gifts and talents...By being equipped to serve by my pastors ...By developing a servant’s heart 4. I WILL SUPPORT THE TESTIMONY OF MY CHURCH...By attending faithfully...By living a godly life Encounter WeekendEncounter Weekend - encountering God, yourself and othersTHE ENCOUNTER WEEKEND is designed to provide the spiritual aspect of connecting the member to the local church in heart and in vision. It first brings a person to repentance at the cross, followed by the healing of inner hurts through the love of the Father and culminates with deliverance from the stranglehold of Satan by the power of the Holy Spirit. All of which are done holistically, in the privacy of a safe place provided during ministry times where the person encounters the Lord without any fear of embarrassment. The next day will begin with baptism of the Holy Spirit and the sharing of the vision of the church. It has THREE COMPONENTS - 1. PRE-ENCOUNTER - usually held the night before the Encounter Weekend and it is to prepare the participants on the purpose of the weekend away 2. THE ENCOUNTER WEEKEND 3. POST-ENCOUNTER CLASSES - immediately after attending the Encounter Weekend, you will be registered to attend this CLASS as a follow-up. There is a need to establish some fundamental truths as well as re-emphasized some areas that were covered in brief at the Encounter so as to seal all that God has done. Why you should attend an Encounter
